RWM Zaugg AG is an internationally renowned maker of safety fuse systems for military applications. For over thirty years, the company has supplied leading defence contractors around the world with highly specialised fuses for medium- and large-calibre ammunition as well as missiles. RWM Zaugg AG’s range of products comprises electronic and electromechanical fuses powered by piezo, battery or generator and designed for use in extremely demanding applications such as tank ammunition or state-of-the-art bunker-busting rounds.
Nitrochemie AG registered in Wimmis in Switzerland is jointly owned by the Rheinmetall Group and RUAG. For decades, Nitrochemie has specialised in high-performance propellants for the military and civilian markets as well as in the development and manufacture of chemical intermediates. Another field of expertise is the preservation of paper. Nitrochemie applies its defence technology expertise to special purposes in the automotive and aviation industries as well, and also in medical and fastening applications.

RWM Schweiz AG (formerly Oerlikon Contraves Pyrotec AG) specialises in developing and manufacturing medium-calibre ammunition for land, air and naval applications, including antiaircraft rounds. Its product range extends from conventional full-calibre and practice ammunition to intelligent munitions with programmable fuses and is complemented by medium-calibre cannons and weapon systems through strategic cooperation with Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH. The test centre in Ochsenboden is equipped with firing ranges and proving grounds as well as the technical infrastructure necessary for testing ammunition, weapons and complete systems.
